Public Wholesale Water Supply District No. 23 (P.W.W.S.D No. 23) is a regional water utility that treats and delivers potable water to customers in five counties in Southeast Kansas.  We deliver water to five cities which include the City of Fredonia, City of Altoona, City of Buffalo, City of Thayer and the City of Galesburg, as well as, sixteen rural water districts including Wilson RWD #1, Wilson RWD #2, Wilson RWD #4, Wilson RWD #5, Wilson RWD #7, Wilson RWD #10, Wilson RWD #11, Wilson RWD #13, Woodson RWD #1, Neosho RWD #4, Neosho RWD #6, Neosho RWD #7, Neosho RWD #9, Neosho RWD #12, Montgomery RWD #9, and Montgomery RWD #12.  Our source of water is the Fall River located near Fredonia, Kansas.  P.W.W.S.D. No. 23 began operation of our facility on December 1st, 2009.  In addition to our treatment facility, our system includes over 100 miles of water mains and three 400,000 gallon water towers. We serve each customer with its own branch off our mains with backflow prevention devices between systems to ensure safety of all persons served. P.W.W.S.D No.23 does not use any towns’ or RWDs’ towers or mains to provide water to any other town or RWD.

Water Plant Operator

Public Wholesale Water District 23 seeks individual for permanent full time water operator position in the Fredonia Kansas area.  Experience and KDHE certification are helpful, but will train the right person.  Mechanical aptitude a plus.  Must be willing to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.  Pay based on qualifications starting at $13.50/hr.  Company paid retirement and health insurance.  E-mail for application.  Position open until filled.  Questions, call Todd at 620-378-3749.
